Frequently asked questions about... Dermaplaning
Does Dermaplaning hurt?
Dermaplaning is a completely painless, relaxing treatment.
Does the hair grow back thicker or darker after dermaplaning?
The fine 'vellus' hair on the face does not grow back thicker or darker. It is physiologically impossible. After multiple treatments you will notice a reduction in the amount of hair on the face.
Why is Dermaplaning better than Microdermabrasion?
Dermaplaning removes more dead skin cells, giving a deeper exfoliation. There is also the added benefit of facial hair removal. Microdermabrasion can cause more trauma to the skin due to the suction required to perform the Microdermabrasion treatment. The suction can cause permanent redness as tiny vessels on the skins surface become damaged by the trauma of Microdermabrasion. Dermaplaning is the latest exfoliation technique, and gives the best results.
Is Dermaplaning good for treating Acne?
No, if you have active Acne, dermaplaning is not suitable for you as it can cause cuts to the skin and will spread Acne bacteria around the skin. At DermaLuxe Aesthetics we have many other fantastic treatments available for patients with Acne - please get in touch for more information! Check out our blog to see one of our Acne patient's fantastic results.
