This Years 'Must Have' Treatment!
Dermaplaning is the very latest method of deep facial exfoliation that uses a sterile surgical scalpel to gently manually remove the upper layers of skin, to reveal a smoother and instantly brighter complexion.
One of the secrets to celebrity's glowing skin and flawless appearance, this pain-free and relaxing facial exfoliates dead skin cells whilst also removing the fine superficial vellus hair from the face resulting in a youthful glow. As well as allowing skincare products penetrate the skin further, Dermaplaning ensures a super smooth base allowing makeup to glide on flawlessly.
With repeated procedures, clients can expect to see improvements in skin texture and skin tone with results being noticeable after the first treatment. As this is a non-invasive treatment with no down time, it can be performed on almost all skin types, except those with acne, and is safe for pregnant women. Dermaplaning can be combined with a bespoke chemical peel for optimal results.

At DermaLuxe Aesthetics Sheffield we use medical grade skincare in our Dermaplaning facials to ensure a results-driven service. Our Dermaplaning treatment gives an immediate improvement to the skin’s appearance and texture.
Our Dermaplaning facial in Sheffield has many stages. Your skin is cleansed to remove all traces of makeup and then double cleansed with a glycolic acid foaming cleanser. Glycolic acid is well-known for breaking down the glue that holds dead skin cells together, so it is perfect for starting the exfoliation process. The skin is then dermaplaned by a highly skilled andexperienced nurse, using a sterile scalpel to remove dead skin and fine hairs. Following this, an enzyme peel is applied which is pain free, and thoroughly exfoliates the remaining dead skin. A moisturiser or serum is then applied to the skin, that is tailored to your skin type, and finally a
medical grade skin shield balm including SPF 50 is applied to protect your new skin.

Frequently asked questions about... Dermaplaning
Does Dermaplaning hurt?
Dermaplaning is a completely painless, relaxing treatment.
Does the hair grow back thicker or darker after dermaplaning?
The fine 'vellus' hair on the face does not grow back thicker or darker. It is physiologically impossible. After multiple treatments you will notice a reduction in the amount of hair on the face.
Why is Dermaplaning better than Microdermabrasion?
Dermaplaning removes more dead skin cells, giving a deeper exfoliation. There is also the added benefit of facial hair removal. Microdermabrasion can cause more trauma to the skin due to the suction required to perform the Microdermabrasion treatment. The suction can cause permanent redness as tiny vessels on the skins surface become damaged by the trauma of Microdermabrasion. Dermaplaning is the latest exfoliation technique, and gives the best results.
Is Dermaplaning good for treating Acne?
No, if you have active Acne, dermaplaning is not suitable for you as it can cause cuts to the skin and will spread Acne bacteria around the skin. At DermaLuxe Aesthetics we have many other fantastic treatments available for patients with Acne - please get in touch for more information!
